Countries with Same Name as Capital City

When we publish answers and hints for the daily Worldle game, we sometimes choose not to reveal the capital city, especially when it is identical to, or very closely related to, the country’s name. In these cases, sharing the capital outright would make the answer too obvious.

Instead, we simply hint that the capital city shares the same name as the country, or is a close variation of it. But which countries does this actually apply to?

If you receive a hint like this, can you quickly figure out the day’s country? You should be able to, especially if you’re familiar with a few of these cases. And if you’ve never really thought about it before, here’s a helpful list of such countries, grouped by region, to give you a clearer idea.
