The straight-line distance in kilometers from your guess to today’s country, measured between country centers.
Direction
An arrow pointing the way you should be looking on the map — swing that direction and try again.
Proximity
A bar that fills in as your guesses get warmer, so you can tell a near-miss from a guess that’s nowhere close.
Hemisphere Hint
Stuck after three guesses? The game reveals whether the country sits north or south, and east or west.
Letter Hint
Still going after six guesses? You’ll see the first letter of the name and how many letters it has.
Streak Tracking
Your results and running streak are remembered on your own device, so coming back tomorrow picks up where you left off.
Tips for Getting Better at It
- Notice coastlines before continents — a jagged, island-heavy edge rules out most landlocked countries in one look.
- Use your first guess to test a region, not to win. Even a wrong guess anchors the distance and direction hints for everything after it.
- Watch for elongation. Countries that are unusually long and thin, or wide and flat, narrow the field fast once you know the orientation.
- Let the proximity bar do the thinking. If two guesses in a row barely move it, you’ve probably found the right general area — stay there.
- Save your instinct guesses for early attempts. If a shape immediately reminds you of somewhere, guess it before the hints bias your thinking.
